How to deal with spam after playing in yahoo games?

Just recently I have started playing backgammon with a friend in yahoo games. Every time I go into a room I end up getting spam from someone wanting me to confirm my request to join some yahoo site . I would like to know how to keep this from happening... as it's not a site I had gone to or would ever join. My friend also gets this request afterward.
